A COLNE Valley pub could be yours - for just £1.

The company running The Armitage at Milnsbridge has advertised the lease for sale at the rock-bottom price.

And a number of people are said to have already shown interest.

Denis Cope, of leasing company Fixtures & Fittinns, said his company was seeking to sell the lease because the pub no longer fitted with its business.

He said: "We are based in Doncaster, where we have five pubs.

"The Armitage is our only pub in Huddersfield and I just don't have the time to devote to it.

"We have no other business interests in Huddersfield, so we want to find someone else to take on the lease."

Added Mr Cope: "It is costing me money to come up there - when someone else could be making money with it."

Mr Cope said the pub manager had no interest in taking the lease for the pub, so the lease had been advertised.

Mr Cope said the asking price of £1 for the lease was a genuine proposal - although the buyer would have to meet legal fees estimated at £2,000 and probably pay about £1,000 for stock and glassware.
