There are certainly some in Hollywood who would agree that when it comes to bankability Patrick Stewart stands out in the crowd.

But Mirfield-born Patrick Stewart certainly hasn't let that movie success go to his head - though his next theatre project might make you think differently!

Thanks to hi-tech wizardry, the face and voice of Patrick Stewart will loom large over a production of The Wizard Of Oz at West Yorkshire Playhouse next month.

But the star actor won't actually be putting in an appearance. He filmed his contribution to this techno-extravaganza when he was appearing at the Playhouse last year.

So all you'll get of Patrick is a large floating, disembodied head - and a booming voice.

But from an actor of his standing, that's more than enough.
