Firefighters cut a driver free after a three-vehicle collision on the M62 near Cleckheaton.
Police were called to the westbound carriageway at 5.07pm, half-a-mile from Junction 26 at Chain Bar.
A police spokesman said a Volkswagen Scirocco, a Ford Focus and a Luton van had been in collision.
Fire crews released the driver of the Scirocco who was thought to have suffered neck injuries.
No one else was believed to have been hurt.Two of the four lanes were closed and long tailbacks built up.
