Man charged over dog walker's death

A man has been charged with murder after a school teaching assistant was stabbed to death while out walking her dogs, police said.

The body of Sally Garwood, 34, from Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, was found on playing fields by passers-by, on Saturday afternoon.

Robert Cusworth, 24, also from Aylesbury, has been charged with her murder.

Officers were called to the scene, near Meadowcroft, in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, at 3.38pm by the South Central Ambulance Service.

A post-mortem examination revealed Ms Garwood died from stab wounds.

Thames Valley Police said Cusworth and Ms Garwood did not know each other.

A spokesman said: "A man has been charged with murder following the discovery of a woman's body in Aylesbury yesterday. Robert Cusworth, 24, from Aylesbury, was charged this evening.

"The body of 34-year-old Sally Garwood, a local teaching assistant from Aylesbury, was found by passers-by in Quarrendon playing fields, near Meadowcroft at about 3.40pm yesterday."
