Greece will face another general election, socialist leader Evangelos Venizelos said after talks to agree a new government produced no deal.

He said: "Unfortunately, the country is heading again toward elections."

Mr Venizelos had met other party leaders convened by the country's president in a last-ditch attempt to broker a deal.
