Opening hours are to change at the local recycling sites.

The five Kirklees Household Waste Recycling Centres will move to winter opening hours from Monday, October 28.

Over the winter period the centres close one hour earlier during weekdays because of shorter daylight hours – closing at 4pm rather than 5pm.

All the sites will be open as follows from October 28: Weekday opening – 8am to 4pm; Saturday – 8am to 4pm; Sunday – 9am to 4pm

The five sites are: Emerald Street, Hillhouse; Bent Ley Road, Meltham: Bromley Farm, Upper Cumberworth; Weaving Lane, Dewsbury: Nab Lane, Birstall.

The sites can be used to recycle a wide range of materials including: glass, paper, cardboard, plastic and metal containers, old clothing, garden waste, batteries, engine oil, metal, paint, and electrical and white goods.
