Have you ever heard of Dapper Laughs?

Frankly, 48 hours ago I had no idea what the above was

I went for a trendy shop. I was wrong.

It’s not a hairdresser or a comedy club either.

But I kept seeing a man’s face on social media and things telling me he was unpleasant.

Digging a little more it turns out that Dapper (as I now call him) or Daniel O’Reilly as his mum calls him presents and stars in an ITV2 show in which he ‘teaches’ shy men how to attract women.

He does different challenges with them in order to try and build their confidence.

So far, so unviewed by millions of British people with a telly.

But the ‘star’ has stirred up feelings and no end of column inches with a series of controversial ‘jokes’ that have seen his series cancelled after the current run.

The basic gist of the anti-laughs campaign is that he promotes sexism and misogyny as his material masquerades as comedy to go under the ‘moral radar’ so to speak.

Honestly, I’ve never seen it so I can’t comment on that.

I’ve not seen it because I’m not interested and I’m not interested because of the material.

But I don’t feel the need to have him expunged from history with a campaign.

Comedy can be unpleasant. What was shocking to our parents now goes out before the watershed.

I prefer to join a protest movement of one. If enough people just decided they didn’t like and didn’t watch it then he would disappear.
