Do you tip takeaway delivery drivers?

They come to the door in all weathers bearing their (sometimes lukewarm) bounty.

If you are a ‘tipper’ I presume you round up a pound or so just to be nice - and to halt that inevitable search for change during which you begin to feel more and more guilty for not offering the delivery driver a little extra.

But in the US they’ve taken things a little further - with the pizza delivery man at the centre of an Oscars ceremony joke getting a four-figure tip for his troubles.

Edgar Martirosyan, who owns Big Mama’s & Papa’s with his brother, ended up mingling with the stars at the Dolby Theatre at this year’s ceremony as part of a joke where celebs had to pay for pizzas dished out by host Ellen DeGeneres

He revealed that his pizza place had received an order which he believed was just for producers and writers.

During the awards show DeGeneres collected a tip for Big Mama’s and Papa’s with many stars putting cash into singer Pharrell Williams’ hat.

How much was the tip from Hollywood’s glitterati? Just the $1,000 dollars.

I don’t imagine there was much searching for loose change.
