A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder of a man in Newsome.
Detectives leading the investigation confirmed a 30-year-old woman was last night arrested on suspicion of murder following the discovery of a man's body in a flat in Ashenhurst Rise.
A 48-year-old man is also in police custody following his arrest yesterday. Both suspects will be interviewed by detectives today.
Meanwhile investigations continue at the scene with further forensic work likely to be undertaken to assist with the enquiry.
Neighbourhood Police officers are carrying out extra patrols in the area to reassure the public and detectives have told this incident is a 'isolated incident'.
