They played together as teens.
And now two young Huddersfield stars are finding success on twin paths.
Leroy Cudjoe, the 25-year-old Huddersfield Giants star, has established himself as a top centre in England’s Rugby League team who reached the World Cup semi-finals.
And he was delighted to see that his old student team-mate Luther Burrell is set to make his England debut as a centre in tomorrow’s Six Nations game against France in Paris.
Cudjoe, who will play for the Giants in their warm-up game against Hull KR tomorrow, said: “I played a few games with Luther at Huddersfield New College and got to know him well.
“It’s superb that he’s been given a chance and no doubt that he will go well.
“Good to see more and more people from Huddersfield are doing well within sport and other things.
“There’s a lot of talent in the area and hopefully a lot more to come through weather that’s union, league or football.’’
