Huddersfield University health centre swine flu warning

SWINE FLU patients have been banned from visiting their GP at a Huddersfield practice.
Those showing symptoms of the pandemic bug are being warned to stay away from the University Health Centre.
A large sign stating: “STOP. Do not enter the surgery” has been placed in the reception area to steer people with suspected swine flu away from the practice.
The board urges those with flu-like symptoms and who may have recently travelled abroad to go home and phone the surgery instead.
Today the practice confirmed it was taking precautionary measures in response to the outbreak.
Practice manager Janet Hallam said the sign had been there since news of swine flu first broke.
She said: “We are just trying to be proactive.
“When this all broke, it was after Easter and we had a lot of students travelling from abroad.”
The patient who spotted the sign – who did not wish to be named – said he was surprised to see such drastic measures were being taken.
He said: “I just thought it was shocking and quite amusing.”
