The Jump is one TV's most dangerous game shows - known more for contestants' brutal injuries than for the impressive snow sports.

And despite the likes of Beth Tweddle and Tina Hobley sustaining serious injuries from previous series, it seems a new host of celebs will be taking to the slopes.

Stars including Sir Bradley Wiggins, TOWIE's Lydia Bright, Josie Gibson and Robbie Fowler are among this year's line-up.

In total 14 celebrities will battle it out in the six-week competition - they will have to follow a gruelling training routine and attempt to get to grips with their new surroundings.

In the first episode the participants compete the parallel slalom - a test of technical ability.

The aim of the game is to dodge around the gates as quickly as possible, and complete the mountain course in the shortest time.

Channel 4 has confirmed the new series starts on Sunday 5th February at 7:30pm.

Sir Bradley Wiggins

Britain’s most decorated Olympian, will compete alongside a raft of famous faces from across the worlds of sport and celebrity.

He said: “Skiing is a big passion of mine, it was a mix of that and the other committed names this year that made me want to sign up.

"From Jason Robinson and Robbie Fowler to Olympians Louis Smith and Jade Jones, these guys have excelled in the sporting arena and I have a lot of respect for them, they will be so competitive.

"Major retiring Olympians such as Sir Steve Redgrave have also trod this path, I see this as a sporting challenge and want to go out there and win it. Just don’t call me a celebrity.”

Louis Smith

The Olympic medal winning gymnast received a bronze and a silver medal on the pommel horse at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and again at the 2012 London Olympics.

He followed this up with a second consecutive silver medal on the pommel horse at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

The former 2012 Strictly Come Dancing champion hopes his athletic abilities will help him get through the series unharmed.

Louis said the skin-tight outfits were "more snug" than he is used to for gymnastics.

He added: "It's quite padded and thick, it feels like a safety suit. I feel a little bit like a Power Ranger."

The 27-year-old had an ill-fated appearance on I'm A Celebrity in 2015. He had to quit just days in to the show after admitting he was battling with a secret steroid addiction.

Robbie Fowler

Robbie is an ex-England footballer and played for Liverpool FC, Leeds United and Man City.

He is one of the 10 highest scorers in the Premier League's history.

He has said he wants to become "the first man in the history of The Jump to wear a baggy jumpsuit".

Adding: "I think this might actually be the biggest thing I'm worried about. I'm worried about how tight it's going to be because I'm not as thin as I once was. Hopefully it'll be kind to me."
