The supermarket, which has stores nationwide, is recalling packets of fresh spinach over fears they may contain fragments of metal.

If you have bought a 200g bag of the Heritage Fresh Salad Spinach do not eat it and return it to the store you bought it from.

The packs affected have lot codes 5016 and 5026 which you can find on the back of the pack.

Nisa said: "Point of sale notices will be displayed in stores that sell this product, which will explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought them."

The Foods Standard Agency said: "If you have bought this product with the lot codes listed above do not eat it. The product should be returned to the store from where it was purchased for a full refund."
