A £1,000 reward is on offer to trace a stolen quad bike.

The two-year-old green Kawasaki bike cost £4,000 new and was taken by thieves from a barn at a farm on Hagg Lane in Lower Hopton, Mirfield.

It belongs to Richard Haigh, owner of Haigh's Farm Shop in Mirfield.

The thieves struck last Tuesday night and since then Mr Haigh has put up posters in Mirfield, Thornhill and Dewsbury showing the bike and offering the reward.

He said: "The quad bike is usually locked in a steel box on another farm. It was just a one-off we had left it in the barn at another farm that night.

"The farm is quite isolated, so we wonder if the thieves had been watching us," added Mr Haigh.

The quad bike's model number is KVF316.

Anyone with information should phone Mr Haigh on 01924 490118, 01924 494108 or 0705 0237505.
