A young boy was robbed in broad-daylight in Greenhead Park.

The 12-year-old boy was just about to leave the park when he was approached by a man who grabbed him from his scooter and threw him to the floor.

The suspect then made off on the boy’s scooter.

The boy was shaken and suffered bumps and bruises but no serious injuries.

And police believe the boy’s ordeal may have been filmed by a second man and it is has now been circulated on social media.

Det Insp Andy Leonard said: “We are investigating a robbery which occurred between 5.30pm and 6pm on Thursday in Greenhead Park.

“A 12-year-old boy was assaulted and the suspect made off on his scooter.

“We believe the ordeal may have been filmed by a second man and the footage has been uploaded to Facebook.

“We would urge anyone who either witnessed what has happened or has access to the footage to get in touch with police.”
