Thirteen students from Greenhead College all achieved medals when they took an exceptionally difficult biology exam.

Around 5,000 students from around the UK took part in the 2014 British Biology Olympiad Exam which challenges Britain’s most talented students beyond A’ level knowledge.

The successful students were Katy Solomons, Heather Smith, Daniella Bailey and Daniel Chipchase who achieved bronze medals. Aprilia Hanson, Ben Fox, Corey Chan and Charles Slater were awarded silver medals while Freya Smith, Imaan Khalid, Eleanor Lister, Jacob Birkenhead and Shashwat Mishra achieved gold medals.

The students have all been invited to a presentation ceremony at the Society of Biology in London at the end of June.
