FUNDS of up to £20,000 are up for grabs for projects which tackle anti-social behaviour.

People living in Calderdale’s Lower Valley can apply for money from the West Yorkshire Police Community Trust.

They include community groups in Elland, Greetland, Stainland and Rastrick.

Inspector Mohammed Nawaz, who heads the Lower Valley Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This builds on the good work already being done on neighbourhood planning and working with people in communities.”

The money has been provided for projects which tackle anti-social behaviour, improve the environment and community safety.

Community groups can apply for the funding at a public meeting at Brooksbank School on Saturday, March 12, from 11am.

Groups can contact the Lower Valley Community Development Officers, Mohammed Riaz or Graham Gibbons on 01422 288017.
