THEY worshipped while water dripped through the roof and down the walls.
But now New North Road Baptist Church is enjoying dry services thanks to a new roof.
The new £200,000 synthetic fitting replaces the church’s 35-year-old corroded aluminium roof.
Work began around late February and is expected to finish by the end of this week.
Repairs on the church’s wood fittings, rotted by leaking water, are being carried out.
Minister the Rev Philip Clements-Jewery said: “It’s about having a building that enables us to do what we do and it’s what goes on in the building that matters.”
