SUPER-quick mum Lucia Dey won the Examiner’s trolley dash competition.

The Examiner teamed up with Morrisons in Meltham to give readers the chance to spend two minutes sprinting up and down the aisles choosing just about anything they wanted.

And after the fast and furious 120 seconds, Lucia had managed to grab items worth £290.

People had to pick up a copy of the Examiner from the store on July 11 to enter for the prize and Lucia’s husband, Stephen, was the lucky winner.

But Stephen had to work in the couple’s business, The Sandwich Bar, at Southgate opposite Huddersfield Sports Centre – so Lucia did the dash instead.

The couple live in Brockholes with 18-month-old son Stanley.

Lucia said: “Before the time started I quickly went up and down the aisles to suss out what I wanted.

“The Morrisons staff were great, with a trolley at the end of each aisle – so it was simply a case of letting go of the full trolley and then setting off again with an empty one.

“It was strange, but the last 20 seconds seemed to last longest – and that’s when I targeted the frozen food!’’

Lucia admits the family home is now stuffed with all the goodies – from nappies to chocolate.

“It’s hard to find a space for everything.”
