HUDDERSFIELD fundraisers have given a £36,000 boost to Yorkshire Cancer Research.

The charity’s Huddersfield Committee presented the cash at its annual presentation dinner at the Pennine Manor Hotel at Scapegoat Hill.

The money was raised at a variety of events throughout the year.

It will be spent on research into cancer at universities and teaching hospitals within Yorkshire.

The committee is appealing for people to support Yorkshire Cancer Research by taking part in this year’s Examiner Charity Challenge on May 18.

The challenge at Meltham features a range of walks, cycle and horse routes that people can complete to raise funds for a charity of their choice, or one of the named causes.

Several members of the committee will be completing the challenge.

Last year, the group raised £2,519 for Yorkshire Cancer Research at the event.
