A DRIVER was fined more than £500 after being caught using red diesel.

Brighouse police and Customs officials were checking vehicles on Bradford Road, Brighouse, when the discovery was made.

The van was found to have red diesel, allowed only in registered agricultural vehicles. The driver must pay a £533 fine.

Eight drivers were given fixed penalty tickets or prohibition notices for a range of offences.
