RACE for Life organisers are urging women to sign up for the Huddersfield event this year.

Cancer Research UK is encouraging woman to get behind them by walking, running or jogging a 5km (three miles) course.

The event has been a massive success in recent years, with many hundreds taking part and raising thousands of pounds.

Helen Webster, Huddersfield event manager for Race for Life, said: “Please enter Race for Life in Huddersfield today.

“The battle against cancer never stops so we need you to sign-up now and start raising money for ground-breaking research to help save more lives.”

Race for Life in Huddersfield takes place at the Leeds Road Playing Fields on Sunday, July 8.

Helen continued: “We know many women want to take part in Race for Life but are worried about completing the 5km course.

“But Race for Life is not competitive and it’s not about being fast or fit. Instead, it’s a celebration of sisterhood and hope. The important thing is joining the fight against all cancers.’’

Race for Life, in partnership with Tesco, raises millions of pounds every year for life-saving research into 200 types of cancer – helping men, women and children across Yorkshire survive.
