Acapulco is a city and major sea port in the state of Guerrero on the Pacific coast of Mexico.

The city is located on a deep, circular bay and is a port of call for shipping and cruising lines running between Panama and San Francisco.

The name ‘Acapulco’ comes from the Nahuatl language, and means “place of big needs”.

Was the location for 1936 film called Fun in Acapulco, starring Elvis Presley as a lifeguard. Despite some exterior shots being filmed in Acapulco, all of Elvis’s scenes were shot in La Quebrada cliffs

Acapulco, is the setting for death-defying high diving, between two rock faces (pictured).
