ACCOUNTANTS in Huddersfield have figured out a new way to raise charity cash.

Members of the Huddersfield Society of Chartered Accountants have been invited to take part in the fifth annual Everybody Counts Awards.

The awards are run by the Institute of Chartered Accountants for members who get involved in voluntary worthy causes.

The awards are in four categories - to recognise the efforts of young members, members in small business, members in accountancy practice and retired members.

The winners in each category win £2,000 for the charity or community project in which they are involved.

Roger Kenworthy, president of the Huddersfield society said: "Everybody Counts allows chartered accountants to use their skills to offer valuable help to charities and local community initiatives."

"Those projects can also benefit in cash terms when we acknowledge the expertise which out members have donated."

The deadline is January 17. Members can apply online at www.icaew.co.uk/everybodycounts or Tel: 02079 208692.
