A JOINER is ‘flush’ with success after scooping a cool £5k at a poker competition.
Daniel Blackburn, from Mirfield, beat off competition from 384 players at the Redtooth UK Pub Poker Championships.
During the 12-hour tournament, Daniel played his iPod to keep him alert.
He said: “I won a few hands when Journey’s Don’t Stop Believing was playing so I played it over and over in the last few hands and it really kept me going.
“I can’t believe I’ve won.”
Daniel celebrated with the BBC’s The Real Hustle star, Jessica-Jane Clement and ex England footballer Teddy Sheringham who were VIP guests at the tournament in Nottingham.
Daniel has been playing poker at his local pub, the Airedale Heifer in Mirfield for the last two years.
He’s going to spend his winnings on a trip to gambling capital Las Vegas later this year.
