IT'S going to be lights, camera, action for a new journalism course at the University of Huddersfield.

From September students will be able to enrol on a Media and Film Journalism degree.

The three-year course is aimed at students with a love of the movies and writing and studying them.

In recent years the university has launched courses for sports and music journalism.

Senior lecturer Steven Dorril said it wasn't an easy ride.

He added: "Yes, students will be spending lots of time watching films but they will also be spending lots of time writing and studying film theory. The sports journalism course has taken off and we are confident this will do the same.

"The people who do courses like these are really passionate about the subject."
