The brother of a man accused of attempted murder has appeared in court charged with helping him.

Adrian Walter, of The Gate, Halifax Road, Birchencliffe, was before Kirklees magistrates today.

The 31-year-old is charged with assisting in the disposal of property and providing transport from the scene of an offence.

He is alleged to have done this to prevent the apprehension of Kym Walter.

Walter, Adrian Walter’s brother, is alleged to have attempted murder on the same date of October 11.

He was charged with the offence after a gun was fired through the window of a house in Springbank Road in Bradley Mills.

The 25-year-old, of Leeds Road, also faces charges of possession of a firearm with intent to commit and indictable offence, production of cannabis and abstraction of electricity.

Another man appeared at the Huddersfield court in connection with the drugs offence.

Daniel Haigh, 25, of Baton Drive in Lindley, is charged with producing cannabis at an address on Leeds Road.

Magistrates sent both men to Leeds Crown Court, where they will first appear on December 9.

Unconditional bail was granted.
