A PAIR of air cadet high flyers have been selected for a Mediterranean posting.
Cadet Sarah-Jane Smith, from Almondbury, and Cadet Sgt Chanelle Luxford, from Linthwaite, are part of a special group of cadets to make the annual visit to the RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus.
The pair, who are both 16, are members of Huddersfield's 59 Squadron which falls under the South and West Yorkshire Wing of the Air Training Corps.
Chanelle said: "Very few cadets each year get to go on overseas visits.
"The competition for places means that its rare for two cadets from the same squadron to go on the same camp."
The two will take part in activities on and off the base as well as giving them a chance to mix with cadets and RAF personnel from around the UK.
