TWO Air Training Corps cadets have been making music with other instrumentalists from around the country.

Corporal Ben Johnson, 15, and Cadet Rob Cashin, 16, who are both members of 59 Squadron Air Training Corps in Huddersfield played their trombones at RAF Cranwell, Lincolnshire.

They took part in a charity concert, supported by the band of the RAF regiment.

The camp was open to any cadet who can play an instrument, whether or not their squadron has a band of its own.

Ben, from Linthwaite, and Rob, from Skelmanthorpe, were at the camp last week.

Flight Lieutenant Emma Leech, who commands 59 Squadron, said: "We were very fortunate to get two places for these very able cadets on a camp with limited places with stiff competition from around the country."

The Squadron parades every Monday and Friday evening at the St Paul's Street Drill Hall, Huddersfield, and anyone between the ages of 13 and 16 can join.
