An Albanian teeanger has appeared in court after violence erupted outside a lap dancing club in Huddersfield town centre at the weekend.

And it transpired that Xhuljano Bogdani only arrived in the country three days prior to the clash near to Cleopatra’s Lounge.

The 19-year-old pleaded guilty to offences of threatening behaviour and possession of a machete in public.

He waved the weapon around before hitting another man on the leg with it.

Police have also revealed that a second man was stabbed during the fight had not been traced, despite suffering up to nine wounds.

The Examiner reported today that a man was taken to hospital with stab wounds following the fight in Northumberland Street in the early hours of Sunday.

Police said that a crowd of up to 15 men gathered and there was some pushing and shoving which then escalated.

Prosecutor Alex Bozman said that at 3.50am police viewing local authority CCTV witnessed an incident of violent disorder.

Bogdani, of no fixed address, appeared before Kirklees magistrates in custody following his arrest over the incident.

He was seen taking a machete from another man’s trousers before waving it around and hitting another man on the leg with it.

This caused the male to fall to the ground, Mr Bozman said.

Bogdani’s solicitor Neil Murphy made no application for his bail.

The court heard that he had only been in the country for three days and Mr Bozman added that there may be issues with his immigration status.

District Judge Maxwell told Bogdani that he was also remanding him in custody due to his lack of a fixed address and the fact that he was facing the possibilty of a significant jail term.

He committed Bogdani for sentencing to Leeds Crown Court on May 11.

Meanwhile, detectives are still seeking the other victim.

Despite having what could be serious injuries, he fled the scene.

Officers now want to talk to him as he could hold vital information to help the police.

As reported, one victim suffered eight on nine stab wounds in the back during the attack.

But police have revealed a second weapon caused these injuries and not the machete which has since been recovered.

Det Insp Mark Truelove said: “There may well be a friend or relative who knows who this man is and could urge him to come forward.

“The victim who was stabbed in the back suffered eight or nine puncture wounds which we know were caused by a separate weapon and not the machete which has been recovered.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101.
