A WEEKEND treat is back on track for 2006.
Greenhead Park's miniature railway is set to re-open this weekend.
Passengers will be able to jump aboard the traditional steam train for journeys along the route in the park every weekend between now and December.
Railway buffs from the Huddersfield Society of Model Engineers have been working hard on the Golden Jubilee steam engine, getting it in top condition for the thousands of journeys it will make this year.
Vice-president of the society Dorothy Hollyhead, said they had made other improvements to the train service over the winter months.
She added: "We are looking forward to starting up again.
"We run the train between 2pm and 4pm on weekends but will also be doing other days during holidays.
"We will also be having special themed events such as at Halloween, Easter and Christmas."
