BARRY Wohlman, of Thurstonland, wants the help of Examiner readers to trace the history of the Alvis car agent in Honley.
"I work for an engineering contracting company who are renovating premises in Honley prior to transferring our office and storage facility from our current Brockholes facility.
"An acquaintance made a chance remark that the new premises were thought once to be the home of the local Alvis car agent. I happen to be a member of the Alvis Owner Club and they have confirmed that Messrs Scholfields of 78 Huddersfield Road, Honley were indeed the local dealer."
Can anybody provide any information or photographs about the company and the rather special make of motor car it supplied?
