Tributes have poured in to the family of Andrew Feather who tragically died after he was punched on Saturday night.

38-year-old Andrew died after he was attacked at Liquid nightclub on Commercial Street in Halifax on Saturday.

Paramedics were called at 2.20am but the victim was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Since news of Andrew's death broke hundreds of tributes have since been paid to Andrew, a former Hipperholme school pupil and keen amateur rugby player.

Tributes have been led by Andrew's club Halifax RUFC.

Mark Wilton of Halifax RUFC club said: “The president and members of Halifax RUFC are greatly saddened by the untimely death of Andrew Feather on Saturday 8th February.

“Andrew had been a loyal member for a good number of years and a prominent player in recent times in the Dukes XV. He had served as Club Secretary for over 12 months prior to his death.

“He will be greatly missed by all at Ovenden Park and the thoughts of all at the club are with his family."

Friend Emma Rothery  posted on Andrew's Facebook site: “So sorry to hear this shocking news it’s surreal ..... My thoughts and prayers to you Karen, Andy’s family and friends who I know will be heart broken he was loved by many x RIP x”

Pal Sam Nicholls added: “One of the nicest guy’s you would ever wish to meet, truly senseless this news, my heart goes out to you, his brother Jonny and family, devastated!! X”

Meanwhile detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Andrew's death.

Det Chief Insp Nick Wallen from  Protective Services (Crime) –  formerly know Homicide and  Major Inquiry Team – said: “We  believe this man left the venue  almost immediately afterwards, so  he will probably not know the  outcome of his actions.

“That is why I am appealing for him and any other witnesses to this  incident to come forward and help  the police with their enquiries.”

The attacker is a white man in his late 20s or early 30s and he wore a dark, long-sleeved T-shirt.
