A FORMER Huddersfield man's bid for World Cup glory is gathering pace.
Andy Mudd, who used to live in Dalton, had his unofficial England football song played on BBC's Radio 1.
It also appeared on ITV's Loose Women lunchtime programme.
Andy, 37, is based in Blackpool and recorded the Lions Roar with his band Fever Pitch.
His song is also doing well in the Sun newspaper's competition to find the unofficial song for England. It is down to the last eight out of 32.
Andy said: "It's going really well at the moment.
"You don't get much bigger than Radio 1; it was superb."
Brighouse rock band Embrace were chosen to record the official song for the England team.
