CHEF Anne Greenhalgh, of the Olive Branch restaurant and tearooms at Marsden Moor, passed on her culinary skills to students and parents at Moor End Technology College.

They helped prepare and taste a menu of tagliatelle with goat’s cheese and sun dried tomatoes, hake in a lemon butter sauce followed by a chocolate mousse.

The community event was organised to celebrate the successes by students in the Crosland Moor school’s food technology courses.

The Let’s Get Cooking programme began in September 2010 and has encouraged many year seven and eight pupils to cook.

Year nine students have also gained half a GCSE by taking part in the Jamie Oliver BTEC Level 2 Home Cooking Skills course.

A £30 voucher for the restaurant was drawn on the night for which all parents who attended were eligible and was won by Harkiran Uppal.
