CHOCOLATE lovers at a Huddersfield car dealership are giving up their favourite treats for Lent - to help needy children.

Staff at the Perrys dealership at Northgate have been urged to donate chocolate bars and sweets.

More than 100 staff - from sales, servicing and repair - have been asked to back the appeal.

At the end of Lent, Perrys staff will donate their haul to Kirklees Social Services to distribute to youngsters who they consider may miss out on Easter eggs.

Kate Cooper, marketing executive for Perrys in Huddersfield, said a plastic tank had been set up for people to put their chocolates in.

"We have put it next to the sweet machine - so if anyone weakens and decides to get themselves a bar of chocolate they might decide to buy two and donate one to the appeal!"
