AN APPEAL has been made for the return of a camcorder stolen at a works leaving party.

Kirklees Council staff held a party at Lindley Working Men's Club for plumber Bob Kidd, to wish him farewell as he prepares to start a new life with his wife and children in Australia next month.

At the party last Friday night, staff presented him with a camcorder, and were still recording special messages on it when the theft took place at approximately 1.30am.

The JVC camcorder is worth approximately £300 and coloured black and silver.

A £50 reward is offered for the return of the camcorder, or even just the tape.

Co-worker Emma Trescott, said: "We are more concerned about getting the tape back because it has a lot of sentimental value-there are a lot of precious memories on there for Bob."

The items can be returned anonymously to the club at 39, Brian Street.
