PEOPLE are being urged to get involved in a project to improve life in Marsden and Slaithwaite.

Ideas for improving the market towns have been put forward by 'town teams' working for the Marsden and Slaithwaite Renaissance project over the past two years.

A total of 13 schemes have been drafted under the project, which is sponsored by Kirklees Council and Yorkshire Forward.

Now, the teams want to know what local people think of their ideas.

A project action day will be held at Colne Valley Leisure Centre in Slaithwaite on November 25.

People will be able to drop in from 10am to noon and chat with the project teams and examine their ideas.

From noon to 3pm, there will be an action planning session, where people can join in with the teams' work.

Lunch will be provided, as will a creche for children aged up to eight.

Places for the creche need to be booked in advance by calling 01484 844554.
