RUNNERS in this year's London Marathon in April are asked to give sponsorship money to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Fundraiser Angela Mountfield said: "Anyone running the 26 miles is making a truly marathon effort.

"By running it for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, you will be helping us to raise the £1m that is needed each year to keep the helicopter flying."

Money raised by runners will be used to cover the costs of the aircraft lease, medical equipment, wages and to maintain the service.
