POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was run over and seriously injured by a suspected drink driver.

Officers are trying to trace the movements of a Nissan Micra car that was in a collision with a 34-year-old man outside the Royal pub in Milnsbridge in the early hours of Wednesday, April 4.

The man, who was crossing the road at the time, was taken to hospital with a number of serious injuries and remains in a “critical but stable” condition.

It is believed that the driver of the Micra did not stop at the scene.

A 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of drink driving. She is currently on police bail.

Police believe a blue coloured Micra was travelling along Scar Lane from the direction of Market Street towards Britannia Road when the incident happened at about 00.25am.

A Micra was found on Radcliffe Road, Golcar, at 3.44am the same day.

Officers are particularly keen to trace the movements of the Micra immediately after the collision and until it was located.

Anyone with information should call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 or West Yorkshire Police via 101.
