TWINS Ciera and Kayley Evans will take a step nearer finding out if they can be reunited at school today.

Their mum Carly Evans is attending a school admissions appeal hearing at Huddersfield Town Hall this morning where officers will decide their fate.

Mum Carly will attend the 11am hearing with Clr Christine Smith who has been helping in her campaign to get them both admitted to the same village school.

The twins, who will be five on July 21 hit the headlines at the end of last month because while one twin was making new friends at Flockton CE First School, the other had to stay at home because there was only one place available.

The family moved from Golcar to Flockton in April.

Two places were available for the twins at Grange Moor Primary School, but single mum Miss Evans who does not own a car says the journey by public transport would be a nightmare.

Independent schools panels include a lay member with no specialist education experience and at least one person who has education experience or is a Kirklees parent or is familiar with the local system.
