ARMED robbers have swooped on a betting shop.
Two men - one brandishing a machete and the other with what was believed to be a shotgun - struck at the William Hill bookmakers in Water Royd Lane, Mirfield, at 5.05pm yesterday.
The robbers threatened shocked customers and staff - about 10 in total - and then escaped with cash. The thieves were wearing balaclavas.
They made off in a black, L-registered Toyota parked nearby. It was found abandoned in Victoria Street, Cleckheaton.
Anybody who may have seen the getaway vehicle before the incident or immediately after it should phone Dewsbury CID on 01924 431085.
