OH the frustrations of the first-time author!

A year ago we reported that Paddock-born Arnold Ewart Ellis was on the point of having his first book Journey To Shangri-La produced.

Arnold, 85, and now living in Hipperholme reports that, in fact the book is only just out now, from a different publisher, AuthorHouse, at £11.99.

The author is the son of a haulage contractor and a former sales manager of heavy commercial vehicles, who has found a new lease of life in his seventies and eighties, taking up gliding, flying and kart-racing among others.

His book was written while he was nursing his wife Doris through a long and terminal illness. It's a virtual journey round the world with Henry a reincarnated Jack Russell dog to ask all the questions as he probes for the meaning of life.

Journey To Shangri-La is available now at bookshops or via Amazon or AuthorHouse on the internet.
