POLICE probing the murder of a man whose body was cut up have made an arrest in Kirklees.
Bradford man Leonard Fulbirg vanished in August, 1996. His dismembered skeleton was found in March the next year at a lay-by on the A6033 above Oxenhope, near Keighley.
But it was only last year that advances in DNA confirmed that the remains were those of Mr Fulbirg.
Early today, officers from the newly-formed West Yorkshire Homicide and Major Enquiry Team arrested a 39-year-old Batley Carr man at an address in that area and a 39-year-old woman from Bierley, Bradford.
Both were detained on suspicion of murdering Mr Fulbirg and were being questioned at Bradford Central police station.
Police continue to appeal for anyone who had any dealings with 49-year-old Mr Fulbirg in August, 1996, when he disappeared, to contact them.
