THREE suspected drug dealers have been arrested in Sheepridge.

The arrests were made by officers working for the Kirklees District Drugs Team and were part of a concentrated effort to clampdown on suspected drugs markets in Huddersfield.

The three were targeted after surveillance in the Sheepridge area.

Officers stopped a black Volkswagen Polo, seizing a large amount of what is believed to be cocaine. They arrested the three on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

Further house searches in the area led to the recovery of drugs paraphernalia.

The suspects have been interviewed by detectives and released on bail pending the outcome of forensic tests.

Det Insp Andy Parr from the District Drugs Team said: "We continue to do everything we can to disrupt class A drugs markets, not just in Sheepridge but throughout Huddersfield and Dewsbury.

"Drug dealing threatens the safety of our communities and the confidence of the people living there.

"That's why it's vital local people keep coming forward with information about activity in their area.

"With their help we can maintain the pressure on suspected drug dealers, taking them off the streets and away from our homes and families.

"If you have information we want to hear from you."
