AN exhibition of work by artists with mental health problems has gone on show at Huddersfield Art Gallery.

The exhibition, which opened on Saturday, is being run by Artists In Mind, a charity supporting artists with acute mental health problems. Work by 10 artists is on display until September 29.

AIM co-ordinator Richard Turner said the exhibition aimed to challenge negative preconceptions associated with mental illness.

He said: “The work in this show can be an inspiration to all of us. Creativity is powerful medicine, offering enormous transformative and therapeutic potential for those living with a serious mental health problem.”
