ARTWORK created for mentally ill people is being exhibited at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.

The works are the product of a project called Inspire, which was launched in October 2002.

It featured workshops by musicians and visual artists, involving people with mental health and learning disabilities.

Painting, drawing, photography, music and sculpture, produced during the project, is now on display at the park in West Bretton until Friday December 19.

The project was initially launched by the South West Yorkshire Mental Health Trust and Development Initiatives for Voluntary Arts.

Judith Young, chief executive of the Mental Health Trust, opened the exhibition. Huddersfield music group Hoot performed.

Adele Jackson and Corinne Silva, two artists involved in the project, led workshops for visitors to the sculpture park.
