AN interactive art hike from Leeds to Huddersfield will take place tomorrow.
The event dubbed Over Here, Over There: Walking the Walk will see hikers in Yorkshire and Germany walking similar routes between two cities.
Leeds is twinned with Dortmund in the Ruhr Valley while Huddersfield is twinned with Unna.
A route along roads between Dortmund and Unna will be transposed to the territory between Leeds and Huddersfield.
The participants will interact with the actual environment that they are walking through (Over Here) and the German route they are following (Over There) throughout the journey.
They will be inscribing the Over There path by realtime GPS transmission during their journey Over Here and using social networking site Twitter to describe in tweets and photographs the attractions of the terrain and the encounters they have as their adventure unfolds.
The walk sets off from Leeds at 8.45am and hopes to be in Huddersfield by 5pm.
