ATHLETE Sean Doyle, who collapsed at the start of a Huddersfield run, has been transferred to Calderdale Royal Hospital as part of his recovery.

Mr Doyle, 45, is a member of Holmfirth Harriers and was about to take part in the weekly Greenhead Park Parkrun when he collapsed.

Doctors who were also lining up for the 5km run helped him at the scene before he was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, where it was discovered he had suffered a double heart attack.

Late on Monday, Mr Doyle was transferred to the cardiac care unit at the Halifax hospital to allow further tests to take place and to plot his future treatment.

He was a regular at the Parkrun events, both as a competitor and a volunteer. The runs often attract 400 people of all ages and abilities.
