TWO men enjoying a drink outside a pub were attacked by a man armed with a baseball bat.

The victims, aged 39 and 41, suffered serious injuries in the incident outside the Riverhead Brewery Tap on Argyle Street in Marsden at 10.30pm on Friday.

Now police have appealed for witnesses.

The 39-year-old from Marsden is still recovering at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

He has had stitches in a head wound and suffered internal injuries along with severe bruising.

The 41-year-old victim from Slaithwaite suffered a broken left cheekbone, a swollen nose, cut lip and bruises to his back and leg.

A 34-year-old man from Marsden was arrested yesterday afternoon and was being questioned today.
